一、课程的性质、目的和要求

本课程是我校在英语专业高年级中开设的一门英语语言技能课程。通过本课程的教学，使学生初步接触医学专业英语，掌握医学英语的特点，着眼于医学英语语言应用能力的培养，使他们具备一定的阅读理解能力，书面表达能力和翻译能力，从而完成从基础英语向专业英语学习的过渡。 具体要求如下：1、掌握本课程所涉及的约400个医学词缀。2、语法： 能将所学的语法知识自觉地、较熟练地运用于医学英语的阅读及翻译实践中。3、阅读理解能力：能基本读懂医学题材的英文文章，阅读速度达到每分钟70个词；在快速阅读篇幅较长、难度略低的材料时，阅读速度达到每分钟100个词；能基本读懂国内外医学期刊，掌握药品说明书及英国药典的基本格式和有关的内容，理解主要事实和有关细节4、书面表达能力：能根据医学专题或提纲在半小时内写出 120个词的短文，内容基本完整，用词恰当，语意连贯；能掌握基本的写作技能。 5、翻译能力：能借助词典对医学题材的文章进行英汉互译，英汉译速为每小时 300个英语单词，汉英译速为每小时250个汉字，译文基本流畅，能在翻译时使用适当的翻译技巧。

三、教学方法

教师通过解释医学英语构词规律及特点，在提高学生医学术语词汇量的基础上，讲解课文及医学专业翻译在国内外的研究进展，从而提高学生的阅读、翻译、写作等综合运用医学英语知识的能力。

四、成绩考核方法

教学评价采用形成性评价，考核总成绩＝平时成绩×30%＋考试成绩×70% 。

平时成绩的评定：考勤、各项课堂表现、写作作业检查的综合测评，由主讲老师对学生的平时成绩进行评定。

考试成绩的评定：考试采取闭卷方式，以笔式为主，考试时间为120分钟。考试共有五个部分：词缀部分（占30%），常用医学术语汉译英（占20%），阅读理解{占30%}，汉译英（将与课文内容相关的中文句子译成英文，占20%）。考试范围应涵盖所讲授的内容，考试内容应能客观反映出学生医学英语写作的能力。

 附：课程简介

    《医学英语》是为医学院校高年级学生开设的一门英语语言技能课程，是以医学专业知识和普通英语为基础的专业英语课，其特点为医学术语量多繁杂难于记忆，教师通过解释医学英语构词规律及特点，在提高学生医学术语词汇量的基础上，讲解课文及医学专业翻译在国内外的研究进展，从而提高学生的阅读、翻译、写作等综合运用医学英语知识的能力。培养目标是使学生能够运用医学、英语以及医学英语工具，进行资料的查找，检索，能够完成单独的英文国际期刊的阅读工作，能够进行医学英语的翻译、临床实践翻译等，达到国际交流和教育的目的。
