一、课程的性质、目的和要求

大学医学英语教学是我校高等教育的一个创造性的组成部分。医学英语阅读是我校在医学专业高年级中开设的一门必须选修课。通过本课程的教学，使学生初步接触医学专业英语，掌握医学英语的特点，着眼于医学英语语言应用能力的培养，使他们具备一定的阅读理解能力，书面表达能力和翻译能力，从而完成从基础英语向专业英语学习的过渡。具体要求如下：

    1.专业术语

    掌握本课程所涉及的约400个医学词缀。

    2.语法

  能将所学的语法知识自觉地、较熟练地运用于医学英语的阅读及翻译实践中。

    3.阅读能力

掌握并能运用各项阅读技能（如概括中心意思，猜词悟意，预见，推理和推论等），具有语篇水平上的分析能力。能顺利地阅读与课文深浅程度相当的医学英语文章，理解正确，阅读速度达到60-70词/分钟；

    4.翻译与写作能力

笔译句子或短文：在1小时内将200词左右的医学英文文章准确、通顺地译成规范汉语；将200字左右的与课程内容相关的中文句子议成基本合乎医学英语翻译规范、无重大语言错误的英文。能借助词典将本专业的资料进行汉英互译：英译汉速度每小时不低于300个英文词，要求理解正确，译文通顺；汉译英，一般难度的材料，速度每小时为200个左右汉子，要求正确表达思想，无重大语言错误。能借助词典用英文书写论文摘要，要求正确表达原意，无重大语言错误。

Chapter 9   Development and Genetics        4课时

2、掌握遗传学相关术语

三、教学方法

教师通过解释医学英语构词规律及特点，在提高学生医学术语词汇量的基础上，讲解课文及医学专业翻译在国内外的研究进展，从而提高学生的阅读、写作等综合运用医学英语知识的能力。

四、成绩考核方法

教学评价采用形成性评价，考核总成绩＝平时成绩×30%＋考试成绩×70% 。

平时成绩的评定：考勤、各项课堂表现、写作作业检查的综合测评，由主讲老师对学生的平时成绩进行评定。

考试成绩的评定：考试采取闭卷方式，以笔式为主，考试时间为120分钟。考试范围应涵盖所讲授的内容，考试内容应能客观反映出学生专业英语应用的能力。

此课程是其它基础英语和医学专业的桥梁课程。

课程介绍：

《医学英语阅读》是为医学院校高年级学生开设的一门应用性学科，同时也是医学与英语相结合的一门交叉学科，是医学生和医学工作人员通用的基本工具和技术。培养目标是使学生能够运用医学、英语以及医学英语工具，进行资料的查找，检索，能够完成单独的国际期刊的阅读工作，能够进行医学英语的翻译，临床实践等，达到国际交流和教育的目的。
