一、课程的性质、目的和要求

《英汉互译》是英语语言文学专业三年级的一门专业限选课，融理论性、实践性、知识性和综合性于一体。该课程的任务在于传授英汉互译的基础知识与对策；通过翻译各种题材的英汉语篇章，使学生了解英汉互译的思考及操作过程，掌握英汉互译的基本技巧与解决问题的方法，培养逻辑思维与独立思考能力，为以后从事英汉互译工作打下坚实的基础。 

二、课程教学内容和课时安排

Lecture 1 Introduction (4学时)

Requirement: To have a general idea about translation.

Lecture 2 Comparison between Chinese and English (4学时)

Requirement: To master the similarities and differences between Chinese and English languages.

Lecture 3 Techniques of Translation I (4学时)

Requirement: To master the technique of translation ─conversion.

Lecture 4 Techniques of Translation II (4学时)

Requirement: To master the technique of translation ─amplification.

Lecture 5 Techniques of Translation III (4学时)

Requirement: To master the technique of translation ─omission.

Lecture 6 Techniques of Translation IV (4学时)

Requirement: To master the technique of translation ─repetition.

Lecture 7 Techniques of Translation V (4学时)

Requirement: To master the technique of translation ─restructuring.

Lecture 8 Techniques of Translation VI (4学时)

Requirement: To master the technique of translation ─division.

Lecture 9 Techniques of Translation VII (4学时)

Requirement: To master the technique of translation ─conversion between active and passive voices.

Lecture 10 Techniques of Translation VIII (4学时)

Requirement: To master the technique of translating affirmative and negative sentences.

Lecture 11 Translation of Idioms & proper Names (4学时)

Requirement: To master the technique of translating idioms and proper names.

Lecture 12 Translation of nominal clauses (4学时)

Requirement: To master the techniques of translating nominal clauses.

Lecture 13 Translation of Long Sentences (4学时)

Requirement: To master the technique of translating long sentences.

Lecture 14 Translation of Attribute Clause (4学时)

Requirement: To master the technique of translating texts on science and technology.

Lecture 15 Translation of Adverbial clause (4学时)

Requirement: To master the techniques of translating rhetoric.

Lecture 16 Translation & Culture  (4学时)

Requirement: To master the technique of translating texts on culture.

三、教学方法

本课程采用课堂教学和课后练习相结合的方法。课堂教学方法主要包括教教师介绍翻译技巧、讲解范文，学生课后练习、课堂讨论等；教师授课以精讲多练为指导思想，以启发诱导的方式培养学生独立解决英汉互译问题的能力。课后练习形式以英汉互译的篇章翻译实践为主，兼顾译文对比分析、译品鉴赏等。注意培养学生的英语专业知识和相关专业知识，扩大知识面，增强对文化差异的敏感性，提高综合运用英语进行交际的能力。

在教学中要多开展以任务为中心的、形式多样的教学活动。在加强基础训练的同时，采用启发式、讨论式、发现式和研究式的教学方法，充分调动学生学习的积极性，激发学生的学习动力，最大限度地让学生参与学习的全过程。引导学生主动积极地利用现有图书资料和网上信息，获取知识，并使学生在运用知识的过程中培养各种能力。同时，要注意教学方法的多样性，要根据不同的教学对象、教学内容、教学目的和要求，选择相应的教学方法，并鼓励教师积极探索新的教学方法。

四、成绩考核方法

本课程采取平时成绩（课堂表现及课后作业）及期末问卷考试相结合的形式，分别占总成绩的30%和70%，以百分制计算。 

五、与其它课程的联系与分工

作为高年级阶段教学的主要必修课程之一，英汉互译还应该配合其他各门课程，力争保证学生能够通过英语专业高年级阶段教学全国统考TEM8。

六、学时分配

本课程共16讲，授课时间为一个学期，共16周，每周授课时间为4学时，共64学时。
